Scuffing to extremities. Small ink ownership mark on the title page. Light, sporadic foxing and pencil notations. Moderate dampstaining to latter half of textblock; waviness throughout. In a custom slipcase, with title stamped in gilt on spine. Collated and complete. Reverend Ethan Smith's attempt to prove that the American Indians were direct descendants of the lost tribes of Israel. This claim would be mirrored by Joseph Smith five years later with the printing of the Book of Mormon. Accusations of plagiarism were leveled at Joseph Smith at the time, which he fastidiously refuted. Sabin 82538. Uncommon.
