Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Not a book but a vinyl record, undated but surely pre-1970. (Some date this disc from 1954.) This 10-inch (25 cm.) 33-1/3 rpm record, "Longue Duree Microsillon," was made in France by Pathe and is coded "XPT 276 / 33 ST 1034," followed by an "S" in a circle, which appears to stand for "Standard," NOT "Stereo." Vinyl very good. Offers Mr. Romans' own "Serenade Mediterraneenne," as well as "Vaya Con Dios," "Rapsodie Suedoise," "La Fete Du Tabac," etc. Jacket split an inch and a half at outer bottom corner. Bottom two inches of jacket was damp at some point, though it shows little wear and retains most of its original gloss; we'll grade jacket "very good." Vertically across the white keyboard design is inscribed, in English, "To Lonesome" (though could be a more unlikely "Lonetoue") "my best wishes and my friendship forever. / Alain Roman." The words "best", "friend-", and the last three letters of "Roman" are blurred due to edge of jacket having once been damp, but remain legible. At upper right corner in a different hand previous owner has written "Taped 19 Aug. 92 Both Sides," though if European that date could be "72." Romans was bandleader and pianist for Josephine Baker in Paris in the 1920s and '30s, and recorded the soundtrack (solo piano) to Jacques Tati's classic film "Mr. Hulot's Holiday" in 1953 -- though Tati replaced the original piano score with a jazz combo in re-editing the film a decade later. This would be a $50 disc without signature. This is a vinyl 10-inch LP monaural (mono) record, not a book. Reduced from $47. Inscribed by Author(s).

Softcover. Condition: Near Fine. Original stereo 45" vinyl record. A few faint scratches, else near fine in a near fine glossy sleeve with light toning and light bumping. Inscribed by Frank O'Connor on the front cover. This is not the famous Irish author, Frank O'Connor, this is the brother of English author Freddy O'Connor who published a book in 1986 about the streets and places of Liverpool in relation to the city's sports history. The back cover states that this song is named after the book and takes inspiration from it, and features three black and white photographs from the book. Also of note for fans of British recording history, this record was made at the famous Amazon Studios in Liverpool that recorded the likes of The Smiths and Black Sabbath, as well as many acts from the local post-punk scene during the 1980s.

Hardcover. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: New. 1st Edition. HB Book and Red Vinyl LP Record Set (Limited to 500 Sets) - Boldly Signed by Matt Sorum on tipped-in page - Both book and LP are NEW/NEW - The vinyl includes Matt's narration of three chapters from the book with his musical accompaniment. - In Double Talkin' Jive, legendary drummer Matt Sorum takes music lovers behind the scenes of a remarkable life in rock. Sorum, whose albums have sold tens of millions of copies around the world, provides an honest, engaging account of the highs and lows of superstardom. Sorum recounts his childhood years idolizing Ringo Starr and surviving an abusive stepfather. After leaving high school, Sorum sold pot to get by. Over time, his drug dealing escalated to smuggling large quantities of cocaine, a career that came to a halt following a dramatic shoot-out. Sorum fled his old life and settled in Hollywood, where he'd enjoy a rapid ascension to rock 'n' roll immortality. He caught his big break drumming for the Cult, and only a year later was invited to join Guns N' Roses, with whom he'd record two of rock's most iconic albums: Use Your Illusion 1 and 2. - The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy Award-winning Sorum opens up with forthright honesty, sharing anecdotes from his time touring the globe, battling drug and alcohol addiction, as well as working with Axl Rose, one of the greatest frontmen in rock, Slash and the rest of the GNR team. His career with the Cult, Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver, Motörhead, the Hollywood Vampires, and Kings of Chaos costars an ensemble of rock royalty, from Billy Idol to Steven Tyler, Billy F Gibbons, and Alice Cooper. - Double Talkin' Jive goes beyond the clichés of sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, telling the very human story of what it takes to make it in music, and the toll stardom exacts from those who achieve success. Sorum invites fans to revel in the debauchery of the good times, but also paints a stark portrait of life after the party. Music fans of any generation will find value in the pages of this evocative, thoughtful, and candid autobiography. Signed by Author(s).

Photographs and text by Chris Coekin. 8vo (22.6cm x 17.2cm), pp.124 pages, 27 full colour photographs reproduced on 28 hand-folded gatefolds. From the publisher: "The Altogether by Chris Coekin is a multi-layered body of work that investigates the notion of art, work and struggle. The photographs were produced in a UK factory that began manufacturing copper wire in 1834. The book features three series of images and is accompanied by a unique seven-inch vinyl record produced from the factory floor: Days at The Factories c/w CuSO4 Shuffle. The Altogether are staged portraits of the employees of the factory - the backbone of the production. Coekin found his inspiration in the iconography and theatricality of Trade Union banners. Manufactory Pt I investigates the overlooked industrial space where a collision between nature, toil and the manufacturing process has occurred, resulting in a formation of a geological micro-environment. Manufactory PtII (aka Made in England) are studies of old manual tools that Coekin found during his explorations. These actions took on the force of an archaeological dig and the artifacts that unearthed became metaphors and symbols of a lost work force . Days at the Factories and CuSo4 Shuffle synthesise sounds from the factory and feature recorded spoken word from the factory workers. Collaboration with a music producer has resulted in a more refined melodic and musical interpretation of these sounds. The photographs are reproduced on hand-folded gatefold pages running concurrently through the book including a poetic text written by Coekin. The cover illustration is foil printed and embossed on to cloth, these processes give the book a distinct look and feel and pay homage to the craftsman. Combined with the audio this creates a unique experience for the reader.". Signed by Author(s).
