This is one of the two mysteries written by Converse (1871-1967) [Hubin, 92], a Very Good copy of the First Edition [stated "Published September, 1926"]. Not a common book. Black cloth binding with titling in green on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 232 pages; green topstain. Interestingly, there is a small sticker on the first free endpaper for a bookshop in Wellesley, where Converse had graduated in 1893. Light bumps and rub, with some faint drink circles on the front cover. Lacking the dustjacket; in an archival plastic protector. First American Edition. Hard Cover. The book itself shows only very slight shelf rubbing along the extremities, former owner name of the period neatly on the paste-down, else Fine/As New. The dust jacket shows shelf rubbing of the edges with some very small chips and bouts of light creasing, back panel somewhat rubbed, otherwise is not price-clipped remaining bright, colorful, and distinct. Lightly foxed on the front and rear endpapers and flap folds, else near fine in dust jacket lightly soiled on the rear cover, with light professional restoration to the spine ends, corners and extremities. During a poetry reading in a Boston bookshop, a poet claims he can disappear into the fourth dimension. The next day the bookshop owner disappears, followed by the poet, leaving a puzzle for the college community. A very desirable title and scarce in this condition.…
