First edition; 2 volume only of 4; whole calf bindings of the time, tight, rubbed at spine ends, board edges, wear at hinges; gilt decorated spines; in both volu. on pastedown, small printed ex libris of "M.Pinel du Havre"; in vol I, INSCRIBED by the author on reverse side of the half title for M.Pinel; in the same book a signed letter in french, which has accompanied the gift of the book, (two pages, 12X20 cm), by the hand of the author, is attached by a corner to the end paper; (creases on the upper margin of the letter; the books are inside in very good condition; 300 and 290 pages; intetesting document attesting of the life of the author in Le Havre, where he died 1824. Dédicacé par l'auteur.
