Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. True first British printing with original clipped jacket. Front inner flap of jacket marked as Book Society Choice. Jacket has faults - namely edge/shelf wear, a few small (approx. 5mms) tears, a little patchy loss (mainly to head/tail of spine and to corners), patchy creasing/rubbing to edges, patchy browning (including to spine), a few small marks, little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, little pushing/bumping to corners, browning/odd spots of foxing to reverse (white side), a few small patches of loss to top (picture) surface, little creasing/rubbing/browning to front/back inner flaps and is in only good condition. Boards are near fine (having been well protected by the jacket) with a hint of pushing to corners, the odd small bump to edges and a little pushing/rubbing/fading to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Pages are a little tanned. End-papers are a bit tanned. Pages are a little wavy. Odd small mark/scratch/spot of foxing to page edges, tops and bottoms. Very occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults. All books described honestly and accurately.
