Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Condition: Very Good+. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Alvin Lustig (dust jacket design) (illustrator). Third Printing. 8vo. Pp. xii, 238. Bound in yellow cloth with blue lettering stamped on spine. Front free endpaper with a crease, now mellowed. Leaves tanned, as usual, due to poor paper quality. In the Alvin Lustig-illustrated dust jacket, flap price intact ($3.50). Edge-wear to dust jacket with a couple shallow chips and short, closed tears. Please see photos. Third printing of this collection of Williams' plays, being the first to add two additional plays, and outfitted with the well-known Alvin Lustig dust jacket. For reference to the genesis of the jacket design, please see Purity of Aim: The Book Jacket Designs of Alvin Lustig by Ned Drew and Paul Sternberger, p. 59. After reading Williams' collection, Lustig hit on the idea of a magnolia bloom nailed to a fence plank; the flower was to drip from its wounds, but evidently that wasn't captured in Jay Connor's photo. Dust jacket is now preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve.
