Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Kurt Wiese (illustrator). 1st Edition. Yellow cloth backstrip with printed paper sides. Charming period picture book, with alternate spreads in color and black & white, about a hen whose longing for an Easter hat is eventually satisfied. Kurt Wiese was a prolific illustrator, probably best known for his work on the Freddy the Pig series. William Hall produced another picture book, two years before this one, called "Christmas Pony" which, for some reason, seems to be far more scarce and expensive than this one. I suspect gross partiality here - favoring the pony over the chicken! Minor wear at tips, but a very good copy indeed in very good, slightly worn and rubbed dust jacket with a 2" closed split on spine fold and a couple of closed tears, one being about 4" on front panel.
Condition: Fair. First edition copy. . Soine tips worn. Short gifter's inscription on endpage. Pencil scribbles throughout. (juvenile, kid's book, children's book, animal, chicken).
