Copy contains 62 recipes showing the "old way" recipe of using eggs and the "new way" without eggs using Royal Baking Powder. Recipes for cakes, muffins, breads, biscuits, cookies and pies. Both covers are lightly soiled and sun faded. Pages have light soiling on the upper corners. Text is still legible. Copy is bound by 2 staples. Staples are beginning to rust. Text is not affected. Binding is tight.

First edition presumed; 6 3/4 x 4 1/2; pp. 3-22; stapled lithographed wraps; tiny nicks to tips of spine, else very minor wear; in very good to near fine condition.On the premise that in many recipes, in which eggs were used, the number of them could be reduced by replacing them with baking powder, the booklet was published as an advertisement for the Royal Baking Powder Company and cleverly listed recipes "the old way" and "the new way" next to each other, where the new way used Royal Baking Powder in place of all, or most eggs called for in the recipes.
