Add to basketFirst edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the editor on the front free endpaper, "To Marguerite Bennett, with the warmest affection and admiration from Edith Sitwell". In 1919 Sitwell befriended the literary couple Marguerite Bennett (1874-1960) and her husband Arnold Bennett (1867-1931). Later the women founded the Anglo-F…rench Poetry Society with Helen Rootham as a forum for Marguerite's poetry recitations. This is the "sixth cycle" of the annual modernist poetry anthology, featuring work by the Sitwell siblings, Aldous Huxley, and Sherard Vines. Octavo. Original black quarter cloth, paper label on spine, paper covered sides, front cover lettered in black and illustrated. Trivial wear to spine ends, small chips to paper label not affecting text, soiling and marks to covers, light wear to board edges, spots of foxing to outer leaves and edges. A very good copy.
