Hardcover. 315p. + [i] backlist, toned endpapers, child's stegosaurus stamp on front free endpaper, hinges slightly starting, shelfwear and fading to covers, first edition hardcover bound in red cloth boards with faded gilt spine titles and brighter cover titles. Flmed as "Clear the Decks" starring Reginald Denny & directed by Joseph Henabery, known as assistant director to D.W. Griffith on "Intolerance" and "Birth of a Nation. The pseudonym Rath was originally used by Edith Rathbone Jacobs Brainerd, but she and her husband were killed in the Knickerbocker Storm in 1922. The company continued to publish novels using this pseudonym after her death. Actual author unknown.

Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First edition. Fine in very near fine dustwrapper with a small nick and a couple of very short tears. Humorous novel in which a man follows an attractive woman on a cruise, taking the place of his valetudinarian friend. Trouble ensues when an ex-prize fighting male nurse shows up to enforce bed rest. Basis for the part-silent, part-talkie 1929 Joseph Henabery film *Clear the Decks* with Reginald Denny and Otis Harlan. A very nice copy.
