Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Fine. near fine. First Edition. Octavo, 75pp. A fine, crisp copy in a near fine dust jacket, just a tinge rubbed. This copy SIGNED and very intimately INSCRIBED on the front free endpaper in verse in the year of publication: "To Peggy, The only instance/of all the graces/all the mothers/made the mistake of…not teaching/their less than lovely daughters:/home grown is always better/than hot house/there is the certainty of vintage. Love, Ed. June 1970 - until." It's not evidently clear to us who "Peggy" is, but she was certainly someone important to the poet. Ed Roberson is an African-American free verse poet, and a recipient of numerous awards. His signature is uncommon, and this is by far the most effusive inscription we've encountered in the market.
