Externally the corners and edges are rubbed. Inside all quite clean and in good order throughout, lacking the rear free endpaper.Overall a good copy of this classic Victorian children's illustrated book.

Covers are worn, soiled, scratched, stained, chipped, corners bumped and worn, spine cover faded, torn as are spine tips. Inner hinges badly cracked and covers loose, text block almost detached from front cover, soiling, smudging, loose signatures, text block cracked, light staining and spotting. A most charming, richly color ilustrated child's book.

An exquisite example of late 19th century chromolithography in children's trade books. Trace rubbing to board edges but with a light shelf bump to the lower front corners and mild break to the paper at the lower tips. A few superficial gaps between signatures. Tissue guards presumably removed by original owner to enable easier reading. Handsome copy missing tissue guards but generally VG+.
