Algis Budrys began his stellar SF writing career with a novel that was published "seriously abridged" (Currey) as a 1954 Lion paperback titled "False Night". In 1961 the unabridged novel, with some revisions, was published as a Regency paperback titled "Some Will Not Die". And, finally, in 1978, Budrys further revised the novel with editing assistance from Polly and Kelly Freas for the definitive Donning Starblaze edition of "Some Will Not Die". Offered for your Budrys shelf: a Lion 1954 paperback first edition of "False Night" SIGNED by Algis Budrys WITH a Starblaze 1978 trade paper first edition of "Some Will Not Die" SIGNED by Kelly Freas. "Lion edition published December, 1954" on the copyright page of "False Night". It is flat signed (no inscription) by Budrys on its title page. The book is in very good condition: covers and pages unmarked, binding still sound and square, with some very light wear to corners and edges, plus a shallow corner crease on back cover. "Some Will Not Die" is beautifully flat signed "Kelly Freas" in black marker on its front cover. No statement of edition or printing on its copyright page, so a first edition. It is in fine condition: binding tight and square, no reading crease in spine, covers unfaded and otherwise unmarked, pages unmarked (not a remainder.) As with all Space Age Book purchases, I will ship these books in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure they reach their proud new owner in the same condition as my description.
