Richmal Crompton Lamburn (1890-1969) was a famous English writer, best known for his popular 'William' books, with the first book in the series appearing in 1922. This 'William' book is number 32 in the series and contains a collection of 8 short stories following the adventures of unruly schoolboy William Brown. The book is bound in the original green boards with gold titling and a gold illustration of William on the spine and gold titling on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear to the boards. The spine is slightly faded and the spine ends are bumped. The contents are tight and clean with foxing to the fore edge of the text block and the endpapers. There is no inscription.
