Hardback, VG, in unclipped dustjacket with minor shelfwear and a little age-discolouration to white background at the edges. Brown cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Spine sl…ightly cocked forward. Binding strong. Front pastedown with 1969 ownership signature of the Vipers' skiffle player John Pilgrim. 349pp., contents clean and bright. Alan Sharp (12 January 1934 8 February 2013) was a Scottish novelist and screenwriter. He published two novels in the 1960s, and subsequently wrote the screenplays for about twenty films. His first novel, A Green Tree in Gedde, was published in 1965 to acclaim and won the 1967 Scottish Arts Council Award. It was banned in Scotland for a time due to its sexual content. It was the first part of a proposed trilogy, and Sharp published the second novel, The Wind Shifts, in 1967. The third novel, which had the working title The Apple Pickers, was left incomplete when Sharp emigrated to Hollywood and focused on screenwriting. RightWayUp Books aims to provide accurate and detailed descriptions. All images are of the actual book for sale - no stock images are ever used. Thank you for looking at this listing.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. 8vo, 1st American Edition, nice copy with a scrawl on the f.e.p which must be the author's. Sharp wrote the screen lay for NIGHT MOVES, one on the best, tho overly literate neo noirs, which keeps winking at the originals, tho with sourness toward women which is all its own.(L1/8).
