Spine toned; covers toned about half an inch out from spine and top and fore-edge. Lettering on spine rubbed but still legible. Binding sturdy. Title page dated 1940. Copyright page dated 1940. Stated first printing. 198 pages. Black and white illustrations in the text. Pages clean throughout with no marks or tears. Gutter beginning to crack at title page; binding still tight. Former owner's bookplate on FFE; another former owner signed FAE. A very good volume from the first printing of this iconic book. Please email with questions or to request photos.
