Add to basketOriginal Cloth. Condition: Good. First Edition. Second impression from February 1949, the same month as the first Heinemann edition was published. The boards have heavy rubbing with some fraying to the top corners and at the top left corner of the front panel next to the spine. There is a small raised bump on the rear panel and the boards have some surface discolouration. Page edges browned with a little spotting to the top edges, some faint spots to the fore edges and one small dark mark to the bottom edges. There is a thin strip of residue to the left side of the rear pastedown so it is likely that the book has been in some kind of lending library but there are no other library markings at all. The pages are a little browned with a slight musty smell but otherwise clean and unmarked. No jacket.
