Hardcover (purple) with dust jacket (red, with shields and two illustrations from the story in yellow, black, and red). The story "reflects the rivalry before the War of the Roses." The jacket has 4 tears/chips, the longest just less than 3/4". Some discoloring on the back 1 " at the top. The Book shows no signs of wear. However, the front endpapers have a bookplate and stamped names of two people. Otherwise, the book is clean and unmarked. Contains many ink-drawing illustrations. Binding is strong, 304 pages. Front and back endpapers show a map: "The River Thames and the Chiltern Hills" Packaged using bubble wrap and a sturdy cardboard box. Tracking number provided for no extra cost. A clean book with a square binding and just a little bruising to the bottom fore edge corners. Internally, the book is clean with only a label with an ownership name stuck on the front free endpaper. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown), presents very well with just a little lifting to the laminate on the front panel near the joint and a touch of toning to the spine.
