Green cloth lettered and decorated in red; top edge dyed green; endpapers unevenly tanned; a near-fine copy with the very good dustwrapper (the spine sunned, marked and a little chipped). The 'main feature of the book is its constructive advice to golfers on their personal faults in playing the game' (dustwrapper blurb).

Condition: Book is fine. . . . one of H. B. Martin's golf pictures is worth a dozen pages of wordy explanation. This original idea of teaching golf by diagrams is generally credited to H. B. Martin who some fifteen years ago began to present in graphic form the teachings of the professional. All phases of the game are covered; no problem or situation with which either the amateur or experienced golfer may find himself confronted has been overlooked. Dust jacket is sturdy but somewhat faded and worn. One triangular piece one inch deep at top edge of back panel is missing. 8vo. 8" x 5-13/16". Bright green cloth stamped in red. Pictorial endpapers. 240 pp. including index.

Very slight sunning at the bottom of the boards and tiny, very faint stains on the first couple of pages, else fine lacking the dust jacket. Warmly Inscribed by the author to the all-time baseball great: "To Babe Ruth who one day may be as great a golfer as he is a ball player, from the author, H. B. Martin." Attractively illustrated instructional volume. An especially nice copy, with a great association.

Good instructional, made into an outstanding golf book by Martin's delightful sketches of the various stances, strokes and grips employed by the golfer. First Edition. 8vo. viii + 240pp + [8]pp of publisher's adverts. Dust-wrapper, small section torn away from top of the spine, edges rubbed. A good copy in the uncommonly found wrapper.
