Few discard stamps within including one on the title page along with a closed tape tear repaired with archival bookbinder's tape. 40pp text is tight and crisp. Book is uncommon in the jacket. Author is the wife of Elliot Ness and a Caldecott Medal winner. In this tale Mrs. Ness introduces Tana Jones, who had everything in the world except the thing she wanted most - a real live baby to take care of. Until the lucky day when the Wizbee baby said "Yeck Eck!" to her, and Tana knew that must mean "Take me!" So did the baby's brother Arnie, who was very happy to make Tana a gift. So she had Agift to bathe and put to bed and feed cookies and milk. And she got luckier and luckier as more and more babies came her way. A sensibly nonsensical story of happy wish fulfillment, told in a combination of offbeat humor and beguilingly impish pictures.
