Very good A smart copy of the attractive, signed edition of Marie Carmichael Stopes' love poetry, "Dedicated to all lovers". Remembered primarily for her sexological work and advocacy of birth control, from 1938 Marie Carmichael Stopes sought to make a name for herself in literary circles, with rather less acclaim. Stopes courted literary friendships, with her 'Acknowledgements' featuring John Masefield, G. Bernard Shaw, Walter de la Mare and Lord Alfred Douglas (for whom she petitioned for a civil list pension and whose Letters she edited), plus the little known Keith Bryant, a "youthful poet, with whom she enjoyed (at least) an intense amitié amoureuse, and to whom she addressed passionate poems" (ODNB). Bryant went on to write an early biography of Stopes.
