No Binding. Condition: As New. Onbekend - *ouboom (illustrator). "Huize van de Kasteele", important PATRICIAN HOUSE, originally late medieval, converted into an orphanage in 1568, enlarged on the left in 1733 and renovated by Ludolf van Heeckeren. Retirement home since 1930. A rectangular building with a high hipped roof, with corner chimneys, separated from the square by a deep garden. Except for the left part built in 1733, the wall work consists of jokes. Rich entrance of sandstone in Lod. XIV style, simple carved doors, wrought iron gates landing, carved fanlight. Above the windows of the storey low pediments. Cornice molding with mirrors and Lod. XIV CONSOLES. Three dormer windows. Inside, cellars, of which the southern one has burrow vaults, room with carved doors with dessus-de-portes (Lod. XVI), fireplace with picture and painted wallpaper (XVIIId), baluster staircase (XVIII B). The garden is separated from 's-Gravenhof by a beautiful wrought iron gate with sandstone fence posts, crowned by decorative vases, Lod. XIV. To the right of this fence an approximately square garden house (XIXa) under a transverse hipped roof. Signed by Illustrator(s).
