Titled Billy The Kid, The Outlaw. it really is another reprint of the Authentic Story of Billy the Kid by Pat F. Garrett, Greatest Sheriff of the Old West. This book is certainly part of the Billy the Kid folk-lore and very collectible.

This book is an expose' of the tragedy that took place at Chappaquiddick Island on July 18, 1969. The event quite controversial then, and still is in the minds of many people. Esquire Magazine said, Teddy Bare "heaps up mounds of evidence to prove that 1) Teddy lied about Chappaquiddick: 2) Teddy was guilty of manslaughter: 3) all the efforts of the police and judiciary authorities were directed. not toward discovery of its truth but toward its burial." A very good copy showing wear to its covers, internally fine. Although with no date, this booklet is thought to be circa 1965. It was prepared in response to many inquiries concerning the Union Bank and Trust Company Gold Collection. It contains a brief history of the Discovery of Gold in Last Chance Gulch; how gold came to be used as a medium of exchange; and a description of the various methods of recovering gold. The booklet also contains a detailed description of the various nuggets in the display which was started originally by Henry Elling, first president of the Union Bank and Trust Company in 1898.
