Pilar Mateos naci� en Valladolid el 30 de agosto de 1942. Realiz� dos cursos de Filosof�a y Letras. Particip� como guionista en una serie de veintis�is guiones infantiles para TVE en 1978 dentro del programa Los episodios . Ha conseguido varios premios con obras de car�cter infantil. En 1980 consigui� el segundo premio Altea por Lucas y Lucas , y en ese mismo a�o el premio El Barco de Vapor por Jeruso quiere ser gente . En 1982 gan� el Premio Lazarillo por Capitanes de pl�stico . Por su labor radiof�nica obtuvo el primer Premio de Guiones RNE 1980 y el Premio Margarita Xirgu de Radioteatro 1985.
