The 2 page introduction By Rider Haggard only appears in this 2nd edition. It did not appear in the 1st edition. Lacks front free endpaper. Lacks 4 of 18 illustration pages. Boards rather marked and worn. Inner hinges cracked and 'repaired'(roughly) so that the binding is tight. Not a nice copy but a very scarce Rider Haggard item. Used - Acceptable. Poor hardback.
