Item description from seller

8vo, pp. 38, [2] ads; wrappers wanting, vertical crease, minor stains; very good. The second page of the ads shows a wood-engraving of "Appleton's New Book Establishment" on Broadway. The sermon argues that the Bible provides no support for abolitionism. Other editions were published the same year in Baltimore and Washington, and also by Nesbitt in New York. The author was the father off the nature writer and essayist of the same name. Afro-Americana 10705.
