Twenty-five photographs with images of Rangoon and Mandalay, while the last two are of Penang Island and the Bridge of Penta Kõta. The photos vary in size: fifteen are about 23.5 x 17.5 cm, some larger and two smaller. Pasted on gray thick paper (27 x 35 cm) with manuscript labels in French. A few of the photographs with minor silvering to the photo margins, the paper mounts have some mild traces of moisture exposure but overall very good condition.This is an interesting documentation of British Burma at the beginning of the 20th century. Fifteen of the photos are devoted to Rangoon and its vicinity including the harbour, street scenes, elephants at work, several of the Shwedagon Pagoda, of the Sule pagoda and some of the countryside. Eight of the photos were taken in Mandalay including views of the city, the market, Shewenandan Monastery and the Royal Palace, which was destroyed in World War II and a replica was rebuilt in the 1990s.
