FIFTY-SIX [56] ITEMS. Weighs 2.3 kilos. This is a collection of 56 offprints, extracts and newspaper clippings, each separately bound in original wrappers, all concerning the excavation of the Viking city Hedeby / Haithabu in Schleswig, Germany. 47 are in German, 1 in Spanish, the remainder in Danish or Swedish. Published between 1920s-1970s, most are from the early to mid 1930s, and many are authored by German archaeologists associated with Himmler's Forschungsgemeinschaft Deutsches Ahnenerbe: Herbert Jankuhn, Gustav Schwantes, Otto Scheel, et al.
