Condition: Nuevo. El Palacio Real de Valladolid, es el resultado de las diferentes intervenciones operadas a través del tiempo en su Arquitectura, Urbanismo y mobiliario. A la edificación de su núcleo en el segundo cuarto del siglo XVI, cuando pertenecía al comendador mayor de León, se sumaron sucesivas ampliaciones durante los primeros años del XVII, primero de la mano del duque de Lerma, y luego de la de Felipe III. Fue entonces durante el reinado de este último, cuando el edificio se convirtió en Palacio Real, y en esede de la Monarquía Hispánica durante el lustro de la capitalidad vallisoletana (1601-1606).El presente libro recoge, de manera amplia y rigurosa, la evolución de este Real Sitio, con atención a sus precedentes, génesis, evolución y desarrollo hasta la actualidad.La exhaustiva documentación del trabajo ha permitido revisar y dar a conocer un enfoque nuevo e integral del edificio, exponiendo tanto los condicionantes contextuales como las soluciones funcionales, espaciales y de recorrido. El autor ha prestado también una atención detenida a otros edificios auxiliares del núcleo palacial, a veces muy alejados físicamente, aunque integrados de manera orgánica en el conjunto gracias a la red de pasadizos que permitían su conexión directa. Tal es el caso del salón principal de Palacio, de las dependencias del Cuarto de la Reina o de la Galería de San Pablo, que formaba parte de la escenografía urbana creada a raíz de la ampliación y regularización de la plaza "de Palacio" o "de San Pablo". El conjunto palacial se presenta así como una obra compleja y original que tuvo una notable trascendencia en la Arquitectura y Urbanismo vallisoletanos, españoles y en el resto de Reales Sitios.
