L'Irak est un pays en proie � de nombreux facteurs d'instabilit� et sa reconstruction en tant que nation n'est toujours pas achev�e. Dans ce contexte particulier, un enjeu crucial est apparu silencieusement depuis plusieurs d�cennies : la disparition de l'eau. Cette ressource diminue chaque jour sur le territoire pour plusieurs raisons. Des causes internes d'abord : les nombreuses politiques agricoles et la focalisation sur la manne p�troli�re, tout comme les conflits arm�s et l'�puration ethnique orchestr�e par Saddam Hussein, ont conduit le pays � n�gliger sa gestion des ressources hydriques. Mais �galement le r�sultat de politiques mises en place par les pays voisins, l'Iran, la Turquie et la Syrie. La d�pendance du pays aux fleuves transfrontaliers est en train de cr�er une catastrophe �cologique et humaine sur l'ensemble du territoire et au-del�. Les cons�quences sont telles que la disparition de l'eau en Irak semble aujourd'hui in�luctable. Cet ouvrage examine la situation, les causes et les cons�quences et amorce une r�flexion sur les solutions propos�es, avant que les pr�visions ne deviennent une r�alit�.

About the Author

Mathilde Andreis est dipl�m�e d'un master de l'Institut d'�tudes politiques de Grenoble. Durant une partie de ses �tudes, et notamment son ann�e Erasmus � l'universit� de Bologne en Italie, elle s'est consacr�e � l'�tude des relations internationales et des enjeux au Moyen-Orient.
