Dealer Discounts Pilot

Please note: This is a confidential pilot, and your use of the feature is optional. AbeBooks reserves the right to make changes to or end the pilot at any time.

1. Setting up Dealer Discounts

To set up Dealer Discounts:

  1. Sign into your seller account on AbeBooks.com.
  2. Navigate to the Members Menu and locate the Account Settings section.
  3. Select the "Dealer Discount" link (marked with a blue NEW indicator).
  4. Choose your preferred Discount Percentage.
  5. Select the "Save" button to apply your settings.

To modify or remove Dealer Discounts, follow the above steps and select a new percentage or 0%.

Notes:

  • Your selected discount will automatically apply to all qualifying trade purchases - no additional action is required for individual transactions.
  • Only sellers that participate in the Dealer Discounts pilot will be able to view your trade discounts..
  • Your discount will apply to your entire inventory.
    • Set a 0% discount to remove discounts on your inventory.
  • You agree to comply with all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations in connection with your participation in the Dealer Discounts pilot program.

2.Selling

To identify orders with Dealer Discounts:

For processing new orders:

  • A blue banner will display at the top of the order showing the discount percentage applied.

For reviewing past orders:

  1. Sign into your AbeBooks seller account.
  2. Select "View and Process Orders".
  3. Select "Review Order" for any specific order.
  4. Look for the blue banner indicating the Dealer Discount percentage (visible only on applicable orders).

3. Buying

How to identify eligible discounted offers:

When signed into your qualified seller account on AbeBooks.com, you can identify participating sellers in these locations:

On search results and book detail pages:

  • Eligible offers will display discount labels (Dealer Discount - 10% OFF, 15% OFF, 20% OFF, 25% OFF, or 30% OFF).
  • Items show the original price with the discount visually indicated by the discount label.

In your shopping basket and at checkout:

  • Discounts are automatically applied.
  • Items display both the discounted price and the original price with a strikethrough.

Using seller search:

  • Participating sellers are marked with discount labels showing their discount percentage.

Important:

  • You must be signed into your qualified seller account on AbeBooks.com to see and receive dealer discounts.
  • Dealer Discounts are exclusively available on AbeBooks.com.
  • Dealer Discounts are available only for payments processed by our external payment service provider.
  • You represent and warrant that you are a bookseller and that you are purchasing books under this program for resale purposes.

How to track which orders received Dealer Discounts:

Review your purchase history in your seller account on AbeBooks.com.
In your order history:

  • Orders with Dealer Discounts are clearly marked.
  • Original price appears with a strikethrough.
  • Discount percentage (10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, or 30%) is displayed.
  • Final discounted price is shown.

To access this information:

  1. Sign in to your seller account on AbeBooks.com.
  2. Navigate to "My Purchases".
  3. Review your orders - discounted orders display discount details.
