A desirable volume containing four very scarce meteorology reports, extracted from various journals, magazines and reports where they were issued. With three written by American meteorologist William Charles Redfield and one by Irish geophysicist Edward Sabine.Bound together here in half calf, with a spine title label. Also charmingly fitted with a slip to the rear pastedown holding a clear wind compass.Redfield was the first president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Sabine was was the 30th president of the Royal Society, particularly noted for leading the effort in establishing a system of magnetic observations in various parts of British territory all over the globe.Includes the following reports:On the first Hurricane of September 1853, in the Atlantic; with a Chart; and Notices of other Stormsby W. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a few scattered spots, most concentrated to 'Gales and Hurricanes' report and folding map. Good.
