About this Item

120 4" x 6" postcards with belly band. Sealed/New. Volume 36 of Roth's Collected Works. 96 altered postcards, various treatments, numbered 1-96; 24 postcards, lettered A-X, with Roth's foreword to the series in German and English. For about a decade, late 1960s to early 1970s, an occasional preoccupation of Roth took the form of manipulations of a bland postcard of Piccadilly Circus with acrylics, glue, and other substances via screenprinting, offsetprinting, etc. These were originally issued in various sizes and under a number of different headings. CW 36 collects this body of Roth's work. The majority of our photos are taken from an open set. The set on sale is sealed and that set is visible in our first two photographs.
