56 pages, softcover, 8" by 5.75". First edition, limited to 1,600 copies. Rare sequential photo book, privately issued in San Francisco in the late 70's, with 24 full-page black and white photos all focused on the same bench at a street intersection in the Castro district, from 9:00 a.m. Saturday to 8:00 a.m. the following morning. The bench first attracts old men gathering for early morning conversation, and, as the day progresses, it brings shirtless young men sunbathing, commuters, bar patrons, teenagers partying, and gay hustlers. The same author published the book Gay Semiotics which was featured in the third Martin Parr volume on seminal photo books (though, to my mind, this title shouldve been the one featured). Very scarce. In very good condition overall, probably the best condition of the copies I've handled over the years - interior clean and bright, general light rubbing to spine and fore-edge.…
