The first book of poems by this 2011 Nobel laureate to be published in English translation - a bilingual edition with the orginal Swedish on the right, English on the left - translated and with an introduction by Robert Bly. 59 pp. plus colophon. One of 1000 copies printed in hardcover (there were also 1000 paperback copies) by Morgan Press. Fair condition only in dark blue boards, lettered in gilt on the spine (the glued text block has become detached from the boards, previous owner's name stamped on the edge of the textblock) Overall chipping and edgewear and toning to the rather fragile dust jacket. From another poet's library, Cid Corman, with trifle fleck marks from the poet's reading to some of the pages. One page also has a brief underline by the poet Corman which may be interesting to a future reader. Published from Robert Bly's The Seventies Press. Printed at The Morgan Press, 1000 in cloth and 1000 in paperback. This is the very scarce cloth edition. Cid Corman was for a half century the publisher of Origin Press, publishing many of the finest U.S. and international poets of the modern era. Corman was also a well known translator and published over 100 books of his own work. This scarce Tomas Transtromer book is also signed by Cid Corman on his small personalized bookplate on the opening flyleaf. Seller Inventory # 42663
