Seattle: Aerial Phenomena Research Group, 1957. First Edition of the September, 1957 issue, Vol. 1, No. 9. From the collection of UFOlogist Max Miller. Quarto, corner stapled legal paper, 6 pp. Mailing folds, mild age-toning; Very Good Plus. The ninth issue of the APRG Reporter, edited by the rising editorial star of UFOlogy, Robert Gribble, later to become NICAP director and editor of the NICAP Reporter; this publication itself, in fact, later evolved into Interplanetary and then ultimately the NICAP Reporter. Gribble's thoughtfulness, clear-sightedness and information-orientation gave his issues a value not found to the same degree in other publications of the genre in the fifties. The lengthy legal paper used in the A.P.R.G. Reporter gave him more room for more contributions, and by this time he did have contributors: Olavo Fontes herein continues his "Brazilian UFO Review" department and Adam Barber contributes "The Second Coming of Noah's Flood". Gribble's own reporting in this issue , which features fewer but longer pieces than earlier ones, includes "Fiery Object Tours West Coast States", about an oddly-behaving supposed meteor; "Trip In Spacecraft Made Public" about a Brazilian abduction; and several pieces discussing goings-on in the community at the time. Serious output at a time in UFOlogy history when that direction was much needed and valued. From the collection of Max Miller, founder of Flying Saucers International and editor of its publication, "Saucers". L103.…
