The authors consider the function of the gun and how it can be fully realized only in the hand of a man skilled at hitting the mark -- whether a paper target as in one article, a game animal or bird as in another, or a military enemy, an affronted gentleman, a horse opera villain, a monolithic law enforcer or a psychopathic law breaker in succeeding stories. The 10 1/4 x 13 1/2" 98-page text, lavishly illustrated with color and black & white photos, artwork and diagrams, is clean and unmarked, tight and square. The 10 1/4 x 13 1/2" covers, showing a woodcut of dueling 19th century gentlemen, is moderately worn along the spine and edges with somewhat more wear at the corners as is not unusual in an oversized format. Collectable.
