Origianl covers, no dust jacket. covers marked and faded, neat previous owners signature and date (2003) to front end paper and gift dedication dated 1931, along Bembridge school library stamp covered. Rear paper Bembridge School Library stamp. No other library markings some minor spotting, foxing, mainly to page edges. The folding map looks to be a modern copy. Being the diaries and records of S.A. Andree, Nils Strindberg and Knut Fraenkel written during their balloon expedition to the North Pole in 1897 and discovered on White Island in 1930, together with a complete record of the expedition and discovery.
