Simon, the oldest surviving work of easel painting of the Crucifixion, by G. F. Tolmezzo, a golden deer once owned by the Zrinskis, an antependium from the 14th century Benedictine church in Zadar, now housed in the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest. You will also be able to see the never-before-displayed Croatian flag from the middle of the 17th century with the Latin inscription Croatiae and the checkered coat of arms of the Kingdom of Croatia, which will be borrowed for the first time from the Esterházy Family Private Foundation in Austria. Nikola Zrinski's helmet and saber from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna will also be on display. A special sensation is the monumental painting of Bukovac by Dubravko, which came into the possession of the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest with the purchase of the Hungarian government from the Millennium Exhibition in 1896. Numerous objects of Croatian-Hungarian artistic connections will be collected from the most important Hungarian museum institutions, and the Hungarian National Museum, as a partner of the exhibition, will borrow some of its most valuable works of art. In Croatia, items will be borrowed from church and monastery treasuries, museums and galleries, as well as archives and libraries as well as private collections.
