First Edition 8vo (imperial). Quarter blue cloth, black paper boards. ix, 408 pp. B&W illustrations in text. Book is in very good condition. Dust jacket darkened on spine, bumped to edges and aged (with a few spots/small stains), a few short tears. This book applies the approaches and findings of modern psychology to the study of art. It describes visual processes that take place when people create - or look at - works in the various arts, and shows how the eye organizes visual material according to definite psychological laws. The new psychology of visual perception is presented in the first detailed survey accessible to the nonspecialized reader.
