Folio size hardcover volume in grey cloth with gold embossing. Boards in fair condition with some spine splitting and library numbers and old tape on spine. Boards have some soiling. This is ex library with perf on title page and small stamp to rear of plates. The worst problem is it had a gutta percha binding that is completely gone leaving all the pages loose. Every thing is present and could be rebound as it is somewhat of a large paper edition with plenty of margins.These are very scarce we could find no other copies. This American edition was printed in England with a Appleton title page. One online reference says copies were over $500.00 in todays money. There are 24 copper photo engravings and all pages are clean and unfoxed.
