22x14 cm. Second edition. Original 1/2 leather with marbled boards, boards detached. Binding is worn and rubbed. The map, which is an extremely large wall map, is not included. 324 pp. This is a gazetteer of the United States, designed to accompany Mitchell's large map. Incorporates listings of the railroads, canals and stage routes in operation and under construction at the time. Also includes an early description of Wisconsin Territory. Comparison with the 1834 first edition reveal no apparent textual changes aside from the publication date. American Imprints 33089, Howes M684, Thomson 1062.
