8vo., vi, 236pp., + [iv], with large engraved folding map frontispiece showing places & landmarks of interest and battlefields with outline hand-colouring, a few short closed tears, edges untrimmed as issued, bound in very good quality twentieth century calf over marbled boards, gilt decorated spine in compartments with five raised bands and a contrasting morocco title label. A VG+ generally clean tightly bound copy of this scarce topographical work for children. 'This little composition originated in the desire of leading young people to take a more than common interest in the geographical surface of their own country, and is intended to follow the first knowledge of a map of it, and of Dr. Aiken's excellent and valuable introduction, "England Delineated," - a work which it will be a great advantage for young people to know thoroughly before they enter upon the present.'
