This volume addresses a central question in the acquisition of written language-the interrelated roles of response and revision- and begins to account both for the cognitive processes underlying learning to write and the social context of schooling. Both perspectives are crucial to understanding the acquisition of writing. The first section examines the language of instruction to see how response and revision are accomplished in instructional settings. The second section investigates the role of the computer as respondent and the usefulness of its aid during revision. The final section challenges both traditional ways of studying revision and past assumptions about parts of the revision process. They offer a new perspective for studying revision and its relationship to response.

Shipping Terms

We use clingfilm to hold books tightly closed, in a lightweight padded envelope. Hardcover books are also framed in cardboard to protect corners and the spine.
For shipments within the UK we use Royal Mail 48 for weights up to 2kg. Rates based on average of parcel weight of 1kg per book. Royal Mail 24 is used for priority shipments and weights of 2-5kg.
Where possible, we will reduce shipping prices to the Large Letter rates where the books qualifies.
For international shipments we now use only tracked services. The premium rate alternative usually requires the signature of someone at the delivery address. Books weighing up to 5kg can be posted to most destinations.
For maximum transparency and fairness to buyers and our suppliers, we aim to charge only what we need to cover our costs for shipping. With this aim, we will be changing to a weight-based template for shipping as soon as possible.
