About this Item
A speech delivered to the Swindon Branch of the Workers' Educational Association, by the then Poet Laureate Robert Bridges. The first edition of this uncommon work in the publisher's original paper wraps. Robert Seymour Bridges (1844-1930) was Poet Laureate from 1913 to 1930. He achieved literary fame late in life, and influenced a select circle. His Christian faith underpinned much of his poetry, and makes an appearance in this speech, alongside philosophical contemplations, concerning the education of workers. The Workers' Educational Association, founded in 1903, is the UK's largest voluntary provider of adult education, delivering learning throughout England and Scotland. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Externally smart, though a little creased to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, except for the odd spot to the first and last couple of pages. Very Good Indeed. Seller Inventory # 867M13
