The book is still square and securely bound . ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 330 pages; This book is a compendium of essays and lectures on life insurance by John Dryden who was President of the Prudential Insurance Company and U. S. Senator from New Jersey from 1902 - 1907. This particular copy though came from the library of Milton S. Ochs, the brother of Adolph Ochs who bought the Chattanooga Times, developed it into a major paper and then made the New York Times into the country's foremost newspaper. Milton was Managing Editor of the Chattanooga Times and then owner of the Nashville American. Milton Ochs' bookplate is on the front pastedown. On the ffep is another plate/sticker that says that Ochs and his wife have loaned this book to the Provost Marshal's School Center "for the duration of training. " A Date Due sticker on one of the rear free endpapers is the only other evidence that the book was in a library. Interesting association of this book with one of the major newspaper families in the United States.
