Ever since Solar Energy Centre (SEC) and now National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) started its own training, research, outdoor and Indoor testing of both solar thermal and photovoltaic modules and systems in India, serious attempts were made both at MNRE and SEC level to understand and formulate the role of Solar Energy in the context of overall energy scenario in the country.
