The first edition of the second Rupert Bear annual, containing five charming tales about Rupert, including 'Rupert and the Snow Machine' and 'Rupert and the Chinese Cracker'.Every year since 1936, a Rupert Bear annual has been released, even during the years of World War II, during a paper shortage. This is the second of these annuals.In colour pictorial paper covered boards, illustrated throughout in black and red ink.With the former owner's inscription of Beryl Sturman to the front pastedown and the verso of the title page.Authored and illustrated by Alfred Bestall, who took over from Mary Tourtel in 1935. In the publisher's original cloth backed pictorial paper covered boards. Boards exceptionally bright. A touch of shelf wear to spine tail, with light bump to spine head.
