Original sky blue cloth, backstrip and front cover titles in gilt, front cover illustration in gilt and black. Backstrip very slightly faded, and slightly rubbed at head and foot. Tips of outer corners of covers slightly rubbed, and slightly bumped and/or curled. No dust jacket. Front flyleaf with neat inscription "For Sir Owen Williams, these many years afterwards, and mainly because of the Plate facing page 157. Cordially - Clarence Winchester", the plate referred to comprising four aerial views recording stages in the construction of the British Empire Exhibition buildings and stadium between May 1922 and June 1924.
