Peter Magubane has won numerous international awards, including the Order for Meritous Service Class II from President Mandela (1999), Fellowship by the Tom Hopkinson School of Journalism and Culturaol Studies, University of Wales, Cardiff (1997), Lifetime Achievement Award from Mother JOnes Foundation and Leica cameras (1997).
